Archiv verlassen und diese Seite im Standarddesign anzeigen : Darklapinou's work
Yeah it's a Belgian invasion... It's now my turn, as my friends, to present my last works...
The last in date is my duel presented at Germany Golden Demo. Who represent Gandalf in Caradhras and Saruman observing him in his tower :
a nice picture of it during a contest :
Just before that, a Pixie Trickster from Rackham, just for fun :
Not so recent, but maybe my favorite one :
And when I don't paint showcase miniature I'm working on my Black Templar templar army (and that from long long long long time....)
You can have an idea of the result there (I've to update) :
http://quentin.dm.free.fr/blacktemplar/page/ (have to finish it for end of septembre a big/hard challenge !)
I'm also working on a little LOR miniature for GD UK...
I really like the small LotR diorama . I didnīt get your idea that Saruman is watching Gandalf instantly because they are quite close together. Nevertheless, after reading your explanations I think you managed to put the moviescene into a diorama. Very good work :)
All in all , all things are great. My favourite is the 2nd picture. But all are great.
The 3rd picture:
does the girl not want to sit on the base , or what is the idea :D ?
I think she does that simply because she can...:)... It is something absolutely for itīs own...
Hello. The girl is just there because I wanted ^^. I imagine her making a pause during an exposition. I'm love with this idea.
After a contest (Crusade - Golden Spur) some good picts by Aztek-Tv :
(We see that Saruman was harder to paint...)
More old :
I'm open to comment, I really want to improuve my paint...
yup, I really lov the dio... the rest looks nice too...
My last work, made in September :
Realised in emergency for GD UK. I present it at Ravage Mix Open. And finaly I offer it to a friend ;-)
Thank or you impressions / comment to help me to progress !
Here's a WIP of a project I'm working on...
What do you think about it ? Thanx for your future comments..
this looks very interesting.Your plans give really a nice part of a warfield ... but what is the white stuff on the Imperial troops ? it doesn't look like a trouser yet , but ok , its WIP ! :D
I'm looking forward to seeing more ,
The withe part are Patafix I use it to find the position before modeling...
My work is more avanced than the picture, but I don't have any picture at the moment.
- The runing leg is resculpted
- The base is nearly completly painted
Hope to be able to show you the result this week...
this looks really interesting to. I like the Cadia models! I look forward to see the painted scene!
hey..looking good.... hope to see some painted stuff some... .. very interesting movement..
First of all, I really like the little diorama. However, I have a question: One of the guys seems to be running and shooting while the other one is like "WTF, mate?" without a gun aiming at something. What is the idea behind it? It seems a little 'wrong' if you know what I mean.
EDIT: Or is he throwing a granade? If so, he needs to be a little more dynamic (unless he's really cool in which case he would just casually lob a granade in the general direction of the enemy )
Yes the second one is throwing a grenade... His take cover from the rocks. What is wrong in his position ?
The man who is running will run slower...
1) When I have a friend trowing a grenade is better to don't run immediatly there.
2) The floor is not so easy to pratice and there are a lot of ennemy in the aera
3) It's not easy to run and shoot ^^
Thanks for your comments, continue !
My actual WIP :
I call him "Ed'" for "Edmon the demon". Just for fun and "how do we use this pincel ?" (not really paint since this summer).
Ed' is finished !
Better pics latters because I give it to a friend to be represented at a contest.
Tell me what you think about it...
Really funny miniature. The front looks very good. But the back of the horns miss some middle tones between the brown and the beige tone.
The following of my dio. The base is nearly finished. I've a lot of more ideas, but it's time to begin to work on the miniatures...
Side 1 :
Side 2 :
(I've to work a little bit more on the crow, and I've allready add some crow's shit on the statue....)
Thanks for yours comments...
looks very promising so far :)- keep up the good work!!
am i correct in assuming that you used pigments for the brown-rusty effects on the base/trash?
how do you apply them, as i normally use them like an ink (adding much water) and gradually build the layer up. do you use any finish for the pigments to prevent them from wearing off, like varnish/hairspray etc??
Yes I use pigment, everywhere I can put some ^^.
I used 3 methods :
- The one you tell. In 90% of case. So I mixed pigments with water, paint all the surfaces and after a take an humid stuff to get the majority of the pigments out. A lot of elements have been made dirty by this way...
Sometis I put an acrylic washe on it to get the colour of the pigment less apparent.
- Mix with pharmaceutic alcool. I use that to have a less concentrated "pigment water" that permit to have more precision and decide the global form of the rust.
- Just take it dry with a pencil and put it on the base. Some times I used the rest of the pigments used in the method one. The composition is different.
And no, I use anything to fix it. Normaly that will stay like this.
this is the following of my diorama :
What do you think about ?
Hi m8 ,
this looks interesting.
The best in my opinion is the face.It looks very realistic , gread skincolour.
The clothes are also well painted but I suggest you to shadow it more - and highlight the armour parts a lil bit more....but all in all its a very nice job :)
keep on doing....
good work so far. The light on the mini is very good, as is the expression of the face. The combination of the base with the position of the miniature seems very realistic.
the idea with this girl is amazing^^ i think ill try this to one day ^^
